Rector of the town of Pertuis (Vaucluse) around 1855, the Chanoine Trouillet was also a reknowned memorialist who left many historical accounts.
Without much success, he tried to convince parishioners to choose his church over the Bacchus temple situated in the middle of Val Joanis. But it is thanks to his frequent walks through the vineyards that we owe him the discovery of an ancient roman villa, together with the nearby wine tanks.
In homage to this man, we have given his name to one of our best vines.
